I have noticed that with the rise of social media, social skills have fallen far behind the curve. We have become a nation dedeicated to posting our every moment and every thought on social media. Whether it be Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or any other site, it seems that we have lost the ability to keep anything private. I can still hear my mother saying “not to air your dirty laundry” and yet in the year 2017 we have lost sight of that piece of wisdom. The worst of this trend is that there is no more shame. People post about marriages breaking up, semi and nude pictures, insults to people, calls to violence, and things so vile that it is hard to know if anyone knows right from wrong. I have social media accounts and I post many things about my daily life, friends and family. I speak my mind as we all should but with the understanding that not all our thoughts should be published as part of our digital footprint. We should all remember “not to air our dirty laundry” and that the internet is not anonymous.

How true..
