From time to time I have used my family as characters for my writing. A bit of it is tongue in cheek. I decided to share some on my blog. I had to create a newspaper in college and I chose to use people near and dear to my heart with a little twist of sarcastic humor.
The Newspaper was called “Lamkin House of Chaos”. And its publisher was: Nue Roe Cees, Esq.
Ross “Hammertime” Lamkin Strikes.
Things were relatively calm in Forest Hill on this Sunday in October until Ross Lamkin, age 2, awoke. After that, the nicest word to describe the scene our reporter came upon was bedlam. “Hammertime” decided that it was time to help the family dog, Purdy, remodel her house.
In no time at all Hammertime has dismantled one wall with his trusty hammer and working on another when his older brother Bradley, age 11, saw what was happening and stepped in to rescue the dog’s house. The older Lamkin was especially upset because he was the one who had built the doghouse!
When asked to explain is actions, Hammertime replied with a very loud NO! This reporter can only assume this meant no comment.
We will be following this “breaking” story and also how the destruction of Purdy’s house has affected her.
